Oregon Certified "Shovel Ready"

The Salem Renewable Energy and Technology Center is located on prime industrial land in Salem, Oregon. This 80-acre site is poised to attract companies involved in renewable energy research, production, and related services to Salem and the region.

The property is zoned Industrial Business Campus (IBC) and is being subdivided to include a mixture of small (2-5 acre) and mid size (10-15 acre or more) lots, where renewable energy producers, related research, and supporting uses can co-locate. The subdivision phasing and layout is designed with flexibility, with the ability to accommodate lots up to 25 acres in size.

The site has been certified "Shovel Ready" under Oregon’s Industrial Site Certification Program. The site is served by City water and sewer. Waterlines will accommodate additional capacity and increased water pressure at the site (sufficient for large users, typical of the industry).

SANYO Solar of Oregon, LLC
The City of Salem welcomed SANYO Solar of Oregon, LLC as anchor tenant to the Park on October 15, 2008. SANYO is constructing a 130,000 SF facility to manufacture silicon ingot and solar wafers on the first 19.77 acres on the southern portion of the site. Completion of the facility is expected by November, 2009 and will provide a minimum of 200 family wage jobs.

Portland General Electric (PGE)
Redundant Power Supply: November 3, 2008, PGE signed a lease agreement and purchase option with the City of Salem to build a 25-mega watt electric substation in the northern five acres of the Park. The substation will provide a redundant, dedicated power supply for SANYO and future users of the Park and is expected to be online by November, 2009.
