PORTLAND AND SALEM AREA NONPROFITS RECEIVE $110,000 FROM BANK OF THE CASCADES

BEND, Ore. — More than 30 Portland and Salem-area nonprofit organizations have received funding from the 2008 Bank of the Cascades corporate philanthropy program as of June 1.

The bank’s contributions give priority to nonprofit organizations that support or benefit low and moderate income individuals and families, and serve nonprofit organizations that address issues in community development, education, arts, environment, youth, seniors and human services.

In the greater Portland and Salem areas, the bank donated $110,475 to 31 nonprofits. Some of the recipients in Salem include: YWCA of Salem, Keizer Chamber of Commerce, Salem Art Association, Willamette Valley Hospice and Salem-Keizer Education Foundation.

Some of the recipients in Portland include: Willamette Valley Development Officers, Multnomah Bar Association, Pacific Northwest College of Art, Friends of the Children, Achievement Rewards for College Scientists, YMCA of Columbia Willamette, Camp Fire USA, Hands on Greater Portland, Good Samaritan Foundation, Loaves & Fishes and Concordia University Foundation.
