LONDON, England. October 15, 2009 - Rogue Ales’ Dry Hopped St. Rogue Red was named the WORLD’S BEST PALE ALE.

Held in London, England the 3rd Annual World Beer Awards are held over five months and three separate tastings. Their mission? To search the world for the very best beers. An international panel of judges tasted their way through hundreds of entries from the United Kingdom, Europe, the United States, Australia and beyond to find the winners of each style. These style winners then went head to head at a blind tasting event, where the best beers in each category were selected. The beers that made it through were sent back to the judges for the third and final round.

Winning its style, category and final overall round, Dry Hopped St. Rogue Red is described by the World Beer Award Judges as:

“Great fresh hop flavours but also the right malty balance...Brilliant and big...Really classy...Ruinously drinkable... A brave beer, intense and rich hop nuances...”

St. Rogue Red has earned over 18 awards for taste and excellence, including a 2008 Great American Beer Festival Gold Medal. It is brewed using 11 ingredients; Harrington, Klages, Munich, Hugh Baird Carastan 30-37, 13 & 17 and Crystal 70-80 malts, Chinook, Centennial and Rogue Farm Willamette hops, Pacman Yeast and Free Range Coastal Water. Its brewing specifications are 130 Plato, 44 IBU, 73 AA and 270 Lovibond.

Dry Hopped St. Rogue Red is available nationwide in serigraphed 22oz bottles, 12oz 6 packs and on draft. The bottle not only features a Rogue saint holding up his halo, it is also dedicated to another saint: Fukutsuru.
